HUB EXTENSION COMING 2025
Gunida Gunyah was successful in obtaining a grant through the Growing Regions Program to deliver the hub extension project. This extension will see the addition of new facilities that will cater to the diverse needs of the community. The hub extension will include laundry facilities, an outdoor yarning circle, workshop space, exhibition space, a giftshop, and a café. The café will be a significant addition, as it will provide opportunities for youth to engage in training in barista and hospitality skills, ultimately boosting employment opportunities.
The café will feature traditional café items with an indigenous twist, allowing visitors to enjoy a unique culinary experience. Additionally, the workshop space will be utilised to deliver cultural workshops and host community meetings and tenant workshops. The giftshop will feature Indigenous inspired giftware, providing visitors with the opportunity to purchase authentic aboriginal products. The exhibition space and gallery will showcase the works and arts of local aboriginal artists, providing a platform for their artistic endeavors.
The extension of the hub is expected to appeal to tourists while also supporting the local community. The new facilities will enhance the overall visitor experience, allowing visitors to explore the indigenous culture and learn more about the local community. Additionally, the hub extension will create employment opportunities for community members, further contributing to the economic well-being of the region.
