ACKNOWLEDGMENT OF COUNTRY
Gunida Gunyah Aboriginal Corporation acknowledges and pays respects to the Traditional Owners and Custodians of the lands on which we live and work, specifically the Kamilaroi / Gamilaraay / Gomeroi peoples. These lands extend from New South Wales to southern Queensland, and we acknowledge their enduring connection to the land, waters, and culture.
As an organisation, Gunida Gunyah is committed to acknowledging and respecting the Aboriginal history and culture that have shaped this land. We understand the importance of acknowledging and paying respects to the Traditional Owners and Custodians in everything we do, and we strive to foster a culture of recognition and reconciliation.
We recognise the diverse range of Aboriginal nations across Australia and we acknowledge their distinct cultures, languages, and histories. We acknowledge that this land was never ceded, and we are committed to working in partnership with Aboriginal peoples to support their aspirations and protect their cultural heritage.
By acknowledging the Traditional Owners and Custodians of the land, Gunida Gunyah aims to foster understanding, respect, and cooperation between Aboriginal and non-Aboriginal peoples. We are committed to supporting Aboriginal self-determination and empowerment, and we are committed to promoting reconciliation and a brighter future for all Australians.
