ABOUT GGAC
Gunida Gunyah Aboriginal Corporation was established in 1996 by Indigenous leaders within the local community. The corporation's primary goal was to promote opportunities for Aboriginal people in employment and housing, while also preserving and promoting their cultural heritage.
By establishing Gunida Gunyah, these leaders recognised the importance of addressing the specific needs of Indigenous communities. They understood that employment and housing were crucial for the well-being and empowerment of Aboriginal people.
Over the years, Gunida Gunyah has evolved beyond its initial focus on employment and housing. It now provides a comprehensive range of services and tailored programs aimed at supporting the overall well-being of Aboriginal families. These services aim to promote physical, mental, and emotional well-being, as well as fostering a strong sense of cultural identity.
By empowering Aboriginal individuals and families, Gunida Gunyah plays a vital role in providing opportunities for Aboriginal people, while also addressing the holistic needs of Indigenous communities.
Its commitment to preserving and promoting Aboriginal culture ensures that the richness of Indigenous heritage remains an integral part of the Australian landscape.
