CRISIS SUPPORT
Support at Our Community Hub
A safe space to yarn, get support, and access essentials when you need them most.
At Gunida Gunyah, we know life can get tough. That’s why our Community Hub, located in the heart of Gunnedah, is a welcoming place where anyone can come for support, resources, and a warm cuppa.
Food and Essential Supplies
In the foyer of the Hub, you’ll find our communal pantry and fridge—stocked regularly with a variety of free food and drinks that anyone can access. We’ve also got a microwave and water dispenser on-site, plus tea and coffee for those who’d like to sit and relax.
Thanks to our proud partnership with Coles’ SecondBite Program and generous donations from Woolworths, we distribute free food hampers every Tuesday to Friday to support individuals and families doing it tough. These hampers include staple items to help ease the burden for those experiencing food insecurity.
Free Community Cook-up
Every Friday at 12:30 PM, we host a free community cook-up at our Hub. Everyone is welcome to come share a warm meal, connect with others, and enjoy a yarn in a culturally safe space.
Personal Hygiene and Dignity Support
Everyone deserves dignity and basic care. That’s why we provide:
-
Free personal hygiene and period care products
-
Access to a ‘Share the Dignity’ vending machine in the Hub bathrooms
-
A small stock of clothing items for those in need
We’re here to make sure no one is left without the essentials.
