Wuu-rri Banma-li Project Crisis Accomodation Services

Support for Women and Families Experiencing Homelessness and Crisis

The Wuu-rri Banma-li Project supports women and families - especially those impacted by domestic and family violence (DFV), who are experiencing homelessness or going through crisis. While we don’t provide accommodation ourselves, we walk alongside you to help find and access safe, secure housing and the support you need to feel safe and stable.

Our program is grounded in cultural safety, compassion, and real connection with community.

Who is this for?

Wuu-rri Banma-li is for:

  • Women and children experiencing homelessness as a result of domestic or family violence

  • Families facing urgent crisis or housing instability

We support Aboriginal and non-Aboriginal women and families across Gunnedah and surrounding areas, providing a space to feel safe, supported, and respected.

What support can I get?

The Wuu-rri Banma-li Project offers individualised, wraparound support to help you navigate your next steps. This includes:

  • Help finding and applying for safe and secure housing

  • Safety planning and risk assessments

  • Case management and one-on-one support

  • Referrals to housing providers, legal services, Centrelink, counselling and other supports

  • Support for children, including school transitions and emotional wellbeing

  • Healing-focused workshops and culturally grounded support

  • Crisis advocacy and practical support, based on what you need

We are here to guide, advocate and walk beside you to find the right housing options and services.
