Domestic & Family Violence Support
New Frontline Community Workers
Gunida Gunyah delivers a specialist Domestic and Family Violence Service dedicated to supporting victims of domestic and family violence. Gunida Gunyah has dedicated frontline community workers to support women and children experiencing violence. The service is funded through the Commonwealth Government under the Family, Domestic and Sexual Violence National Partnership Agreement (NPA).
Through the provision of a range of services, including safety planning, risk assessment, referrals, case management, case coordination, linkages to services, information, and resources, the service aims to empower Indigenous individuals, promote healing, and prevent further harm.
By addressing the unique needs and challenges Indigenous people face, Gunida Gunyah ensures that victims receive specialised support in a safe and nurturing environment.
We have two female frontline workers who are based in the Community Hub in the CBD of Gunnedah. They are located at 167-169 Conadilly Street.
To speak to a frontline worker, please call (02) 6742 7038 or drop by their hub. If you want to make a referral for yourself or on behalf of a client, please use the link provided below.

Family and domestic violence is a significant issue plaguing our community, often driven by complex factors such as generational trauma and a lack of culturally appropriate support. The impact of family violence is far reaching, affecting individuals, families and the community as a whole. Addressing this issue is critical to fostering a safe and supportive environment for all members of the Gunnedah community.
